| I'm assuming the function you have in mind is for venting heat out of the engine compartment. But I haven't heard of many people with modified Z's complaining about underhood temps being out of control. Yes, any measure that can be taken to reduce heat is a good idea and I will even confess to adding louvered inspection panels on one of my 240Z's - which actually worked to reduce temps. BTW, on this same 240Z, I added the 280-ZX turbo style hood vents and it didn't look too bad. And this leads me to the next point. Secondly, I think there would be few - if any - louvers available that would actually look good on the Z. The Z32 body shape wasn't designed with vents/gills/louvers in mind. The body shape is pretty organic with a minimum of distractions breaking up the flow (i.e.: note how they kept straight lines to a minimum). Third, it seems like a hassle to change out the hood 2x a year, then worrying about getting it lined up properly, and storing the other hood out of the way, blah, blah, blah.... Now, having stated my opinion on the subject matter I can appreciate what you've got in mind and would not try to talk you out of it. My original post was mostly to poke some fun at you as it seems that you usually jump into the middle the fray of calling something ricey :-) Also, if you must go forward with this idea please try to go with something that is more integrated and looking like it could have come from the factory that way. Any external, screw-on, glued type of louver is going to look bad - if not at first, it will as it ages. Dave
